For one pirate-themed event, we were tasked with designing a custom dancefloor that would mirror the boldness of the night — right down to a giant skull sticker at its center. It was meant to tie into the nearby Skull DJ Booth, and act as a powerful visual cue for energy, attitude, and interaction.
But on the day of installation, nature had other plans.
The custom skull vinyl was scheduled to be applied to the plywood dancefloor during final setup. But as the installation began, strong winds swept sand beneath the sticker, causing bubbles, ripples, and visual flaws.
This wasn’t just a design issue — it was a reputation risk.
With only hours to spare, the IPG team made the call to reprint half of the skull sticker, fast. Our trusted collaborator in print and fabrication worked at top speed to produce a fresh decal — and by sunset, we were back on track with a flawless finish.

The pirate dancefloor was constructed in our workshop with:
- Plywood flooring for strength and stability

Before the event, we conducted full tech tests:
- Lighting sync via DMX for pulse effects
- Colors shifting from fire red to eerie blue
- Laser show
Everything was engineered to perform and it did.
Installed within a few hours by our décor teams, the dancefloor was positioned strategically on site in front of the DJ skull. The two elements visually echoed each other — one static, one live — creating a seamless thematic flow.
