Initiated and launched on June 21, 1982 by the French Ministry of Culture Jack Lang, the World Music Day has since become an unmissable event which is celebrated in more than 120 countries around the world.

THE PARTY WILL BE FREE, OPEN TO ALL MUSIC “WITHOUT HIERARCHY OF GENDER AND PRACTICE”

This inspiring vision for millions of people should probably apply in our time to humanity in general, this in order to find tolerance, respect, harmony and social peace that only the Arts and Culture including music is a preponderant element could generate!

Mauritius, a patchwork of cultures and an explosive mix of genres has not escaped the rule and even if this year the COVID 19 came to play the holiday troubles preventing gatherings, the fact remains that many initiatives have been put in place in the artistic and political world to allow all Mauritians here and elsewhere to take full advantage of this celebration thanks to streaming technologies.
